How to use

  3. If you have more than one camera, choose another from the list.
  4. Read the resolution and frame rate below the preview. Press Stop to release the camera.

What this test can detect

  • A camera that is disconnected, blocked by permissions or used by another app.
  • A dirty or covered lens, poor focus or wrong exposure.
  • The wrong camera being selected as the default.
  • A camera delivering a lower resolution or frame rate than expected.

  • The picture stays in your browser. This page never records, stores or uploads it.
  • Browsers may hide camera names until permission is granted, and the reported frame rate is what the browser receives, which can be lower than the camera supports.
  • Image quality also depends on lighting. Try facing a window before blaming the camera.
