  2. Press Start test to open the color in fullscreen.
  3. Use the arrow keys, the on-screen controls, or tap the screen to move through the colors.
  4. Look at the whole panel for each color, including the edges and corners.
  5. Press Esc or Exit when you are done.

What this test can detect

  • Dead or stuck pixels that stay a different color from the rest of the screen.
  • Backlight bleed and clouding, which show as brighter patches on the black screen.
  • A color tint or cast, such as a white screen that looks slightly pink or yellow.
  • Uneven brightness or dark bands across the panel.

Important

  • A faint amount of unevenness is normal, especially on large LCD panels viewed from an angle.
  • What you see also depends on your brightness setting, viewing angle, and the light in the room.
  • This test shows you what the display is doing. It cannot change or repair the hardware.
